Paolo Anselmo works at the boundary between functional object and identity. The vase retains its use, yet acquires an autonomous character, as if the form were inhabited by a restrained presence.

In Guardami negli Occhi e Baciami #27, the face does not present itself frontally: it remains lateral, almost listening. This distance makes the work more ambiguous, suspended between irony, intimacy and observation.
